Is R&D and IP research really growing in India…?

R&D in India is developing a lot and emerged as a word leading player in some of the industries such as IT, Telecom etc over the past few years. Increase in patent filing from India and focus on IP is the key sign of the development. Many companies like IBM, Nokia, Cisco, Intel, Microsoft etc have already developed R&D centers in India and strongly working on Intellectual property(IP) area and companies like Infosys, Satyam, Wipro, and HCL etc. have also started filing patents through Indian Development Centers. More than 3000 employees are working in Indian Development Centers like Intel, Cisco etc. Companies like Cisco have generated over 110 US patents from India and another 400-odd with the US Patents and Trademark Office. Some of this stats show a sign for increasing development in R&D and IP. But, there iare lot of gaps in many fields of Research due to lack of experience in research in that particular area and people opting more in the work of services rather than development. More people opting for research will increase the technology growth in India and IP activity which takes India to next level among the developed countries.
